10 things to do after you get engaged…
21st January 2020
You may well have been dreaming about this forever, or maybe it has come as a total shock, but you officially have a ring on your finger, YOU’RE ENGAGED!
The days, weeks, months that follow an engagement are normally quite a whirlwind, you’re on cloud nine. You have so many things to think about and so many people that you want to share your happy news with. It can sometimes be a bit overwhelming, but it really doesn’t need to be. Enjoy it, embrace the craziness and go with it, after all it’s supposed to be fun isn’t it.
But, if you are feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all and don’t know where to start, why not have a read of our;
Top 10 things to do after you get engaged
- The first and most important! Call your family and friends and tell them the good news…
- Post a #ringselfie (obviously!)
- If the rings too small or too big get it re-sized before you lose it. Everyone wants to wear their ring ASAP, we get it, but don’t risk it if it doesn’t fit.
- Still ring related…get your ring insured, especially if you plan on wearing it when it doesn’t quite fit.
- Think about a date – its always a good idea to have a date in mind before you start thinking about venues or suppliers as that’ll be the first thing that they ask you.
- Discuss your budget. It’s always better to have an open and honest discussion about your wedding budget so that you are both on the same page and can rule things in or out when doing the initial planning.
- Before you think about potential venues you need to think about the GUEST LIST. Do you want your wedding to be small and intimate or are you going for the invite everyone approach. Either way the size of your guest list will determine which venues you can view, so it’s definitely one of the first decisions that need to be made.
- VENUES – research venues and get a list of potentials. Most will have lots of information online, but remember most venues are super helpful, so if you aren’t sure of anything always just pick up the phone and give them a call.
- If you fancy a pre-wedding party, why not plan an engagement party. It’s a nice excuse to celebrate your happy news with friends and family and good practice for the real thing.
- Have a cuppa and put your feet up…this being engaged malarkey is tiring!t
